Craving something sweet with protein?
A combination I bet you haven’t thought of, but it works! Craving something sweet, yet still need to get your protein in? This recipe is for you. We use egg whites for a milder flavor and to reduce the fat content since cinnamon butter and cream cheese is recommended. Enjoy!
4 servings (184g) liquid egg whites
½ cup (40g) quick-cooking oats
¼ tsp. cinnamon
1 T. cinnamon butter
1 T. light cream cheese
1 T. sugar free maple syrup
Optional toppings: granola or nut butter
Heat a small skillet over medium-high heat and spray with non-stick cooking spray. Mix egg whites, cinnamon and oats in a bowl. Pour in pan and cook. Flip once cooked on one side. Add cinnamon butter and cream cheese to center and fold in half. Top with optional toppings if desired (not included in macros).
Nutrition facts for 1 omelet: 26g Protein, 31g Carbs, 8g Fat
Note: If you do not have quick oats, you can substitute whole oats. Prepare the egg white, cinnamon and whole oat mixture and let set for 5 minutes to soften oats. You may need to add a dash of milk or water if it becomes too thick.
